The central government has recently announced the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, previously known as the Roof Top Solar Scheme, with the aim of providing free electricity up to 300 units to the country’s common people. The scheme encourages the installation of solar panels in houses to reduce the burden of electricity charges on people and spread the use of solar power. The middle-class people have been given good news in the interim budget introduced by the central government, as the scheme aims to benefit them.
More than one crore people have applied for this scheme within a month, and registrations are coming from all parts of the country, mainly in states like Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. How to apply for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana:
- Go to the website pmsuryaghar.gov.in and register.
- Select your state name and electricity supply company name.
- Provide your electricity connection number, mobile number, and e-mail ID.
- Log in to the website using your registered mobile phone number and User ID.
- Complete the rooftop solar application and wait for DISCOM approvals.
- Once you get permission, install the solar plant from the registered vendors of your income.
- After that, you have to submit your plot details in the portal to apply for a net meter.
- DISCOM officials will come and check. After verification is completed the net meter is installed.
- After that, a commissioning certificate will be issued. Once you get this report, submit the cancelled check and your bank account details in the portal. The subsidy money will be credited to your account within 30 days.
