The Central Government Health Scheme has introduced new rules, which took effect on April 1. Central employees must link their health scheme ID with their Ayushman Bharat account; the deadline is April 30. To link their CGHS ID with ABHA ID, employees under the health scheme must follow a process outlined in an office memorandum from the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
This process should be completed within 30 days. Experts recommend that beneficiaries familiarize themselves with the process and its benefits before linking their CGHS beneficiary ID with ABHA ID.
The Ayushman Bharat Health Account Card has a unique 14-digit identification number known as the ABHA ID. This number can be created for free, enabling individuals to store their medical records. As the records are maintained digitally, users can easily access their health records at any hospital using this card. Any domestic citizen can create an Ayushman Bharat Health ID.
How to Link ABHA ID with CGHS Beneficiary ID
- First, visit the official website of the Central Government Health Scheme at https://cghs.nic.in.
- Go to the Beneficiary section and click on Beneficiary Login. The Direct Link is https://www.cghs.nic.in/benwelcome.jsp.
- A new window will open. Enter your ID, password, and captcha code and click the sign-in option.
- Afterwards, go to the update menu and click the Create or Link ABHA ID option.
- To create an Ayushman Bharat ID for family members, details of each family member are required.
- After the main cardholder has drawn, click on I don’t have ABHA number.
- Enter the Aadhaar number, read the terms and conditions completely, and agree.
- Enter and verify the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
- After that, a link status option will appear; if the details match, the ABHA card can be downloaded.
- If there is an existing ABHA number, select the Create or Link ABHA option and then the Link Using ABHA Number option. You must say OK to the conditions.
- Click on Get OTP. Enter the OTP received on the mobile number and verify it.
- After that, your CGHS Beneficiary ID and ABHA ID status will appear. If the details are correct, just download your card.
